SDG's Post #16 Gender Equality

SDGoal No. 5 - Gender Equality

" Women all over the World speak the same language;
   The Language of Silence..."

Read these lines somewhere. These lines keep the bell ringing in my head.
Why the language of Silence ? Can we give voice to the women ?

It disturbs. It hurts. It pains.
It is all over the Newspapers.
It is  splashed on the TV Screens.

Another Acid Attack.
Another Torture.
Another Rape.

Rape-
May be 6 months old infant,
May be 6 years old girl;
May be 60 years old women.

Tormented Women,
Shattered Self Esteem;
A Dead Being living it through...

In our schools, if we Practice, Preach and Propagate SDGoal Number 5. May be we give voice to our young girls in schools and perhaps to the Would Be young women of 2030.

Let we the Educators Rise Up and build for our girls and boys a Sustainable Society.
A society where -
Education is    50:50
Opportunity is  50:50
Planet is       50:50
For Our Girls and Boys....

Empowering Educators........

SDG's Post #15 Republic Day Celebration

Celebrations Celebrations !!

Born In Free India !
Living in Digital India !
Working for Sustainable India !

We are turning 10 in April 2017. All students on roll or passed out from Kamla Nehru Public School, India, are born in free India.

My beloved Teachers and my loving Sevadars grew up in free India. Republic Day Celebration in school is a pleasant reminder :

To value and respect this freedom.
To be thankful to all men and women who laid down their lives for this freedom.

Now that we are born free how can we contribute to build a Sustainable India ? For this we need to Practice, Preach and Propagate SDG's. That's what we did when we celebrated our freedom and the United Nations 2030 Agenda together. Students talked about Indian Freedom and the United Nation's 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Primary students in colourful state attire promised to work for UN 2030 Agenda. "We are the SDG Generation;" echoed in our school premises. Our majestic 22 feet tall SDG Wall is a witness to the Celebration of Indian Republic Day and United Nation's 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

We Celebrated Our Present Freedom !
We Celebrated Our Future Commitment !
We celebrated Republic Day and SDG's Hand in Hand !

SDG's Post #14 Microsoft Teacher Training

Myth: Technology will replace Teachers in the Classroom.
Truth: Teachers adept in Technology would replace Teachers
             inept in Technology.

In Kamla Nehru Public School, India, updating and upgrading ourselves in use of Technology is part and parcel of our belief. Being a Microsoft Showcase School, we always walk the extra mile !

Visited Nirmaan School, Jalandhar to conduct Teacher training for 50+ Educators on 09 December, 2017. Teachers from Pioneer International School and Chankya International School joined in too.

In our journey for United Nation's 2030 Agenda, we practiced Sustainable Development Goal No,- 4 (Quality Education), 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and 17 (Partnerships For The Goals) while walking the extra mile !

SDG's Post #11 Karo Sambhav School Programme

Everything Is Possible !!!

That is what @Karosambhav is all about...
A Cohesive E-Waste Movement...

Karo Sambhav is a tech-enabled, environmentally beneficial and socially responsible e-waste Producer Responsibility Organisation (PRO). Karo Sambhav’s members include prominent brands namely Apple, Dell, HP and Lenovo. [sources- Karosambhav Website ]

In Kamla Nehru Public School, we grab every opportunity when it comes to practicing, preaching and propagating United Nation's 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. We joined Karo Sambhav School Programme- Shaping and Enabling Behavioral Change! Activities of Karo Sambhav Programme are based on :-

-SDG # 8 Decent Work and Economic Growth.
-SDG #9  Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.
-SDG #10 Reduced Inequalities.
-SDG #11 Sustainable Cities and Communities.
-SDG #12 Responsible Consumption and Production.
-SDG #13 Climate Action.
-SDG #17 Partnerships for the Goals.

For building a Sustainable Future, E-Waste is to be deliberated upon. What is E-Waste? How is it hazardous? How do we dispose it off ? These were some of the points students researched upon. Everybody contributed to the E-Waste Collection in our school. Students pooled in, School pooled in and even the local NGO's, Clubs joined in to contribute E-Waste.

A journey of SDG's becomes meaningful when the community joins in.
Well that is what we call E-WARENESS !

SDG's Post #10 #SOS4LOVE PROJECT

#SOS4LOVE PROJECT

"Love is like Honey,
The more you spread it;
The more you get it......... "

It is a general belief that Educational Transaction in Public schools in India is many times more fruitful than in Government Schools.

Children of The Rich , The Elite join The Public Schools.
Children of The "Majority Middle Class" in India join Public Schools. Parents cut short all expenses to put their children in Public Schools.
Other children join the Government run schools where there is no fees or bare minimum at times.
To build a Sustainable India, we need to bridge the gap in Educational Transaction in the Government Schools and the Public schools.

On 20 January, 2018 students of Upper Kindergarten visited the local Government Middle School in village Chak Hakim to spread Love. A journey they took under #SOS4LOVE Project. Children made Ice Cream Stick Puppets to present the fellow students and shared snacks.

They Sang Together...
They Danced Together..
And Love Prevailed !!!!

That's Building United Nations Sustainable Communities-SDG No. 11

SDG's Post #8 The Balancing Act

The Balancing Act!
Between Work & Family commitments!
A beautiful start of a NewYear...2018. Took time off from School to be with my daughter Meher and grandson Ayan who flew from Australia . He is in Grade 5 and is in India on a vacation. We talked. We drew. We painted. We did craft together. Ayan made Bookmark for me. Rather he made plenty of Bookmarks. Ayan was excited to draw the first circle using his Geometry tool kit. We discussed all about United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and United Nation's 2030 Agenda. "Poetry Time", I declared. We delibrated. Presenting his first Poem "Children"
